Wow, huge news! I've always preferred Ringo's solo stuff though, so maybe this is a good thing. I'd love to see her collaborate with Saito Neko again...

well that was a depressing news to read first thing in the morning.
I adore all of the band members, not just Shiina. I will especially miss Seiji. :(

In fact she just did work with him again for the piece of music she wrote for the movie Between Today and Tomorrow:

I was pretty upset when I heard this. They're one of the best bands on the scene! I mean, I respect their reasons (whatever those may be) and wish them success in their other endeavors :) I hope Ringo will still do some solo stuff though xD

“I would like to thank everybody who enjoyed this band. Though it was such a short period of time, thank you very much for everything until now. Jihen will disband on the upcoming leap day, however, our works will be forever immortal.”

What a beautiful quote, will try and pick up their live dvd. Would be wonderful to have :)

Yes, she is. In fact she is doing "Jiyuu e Michidzure", the theme song to a new drama titled "Ataru". I believe the first episode has just recently aired, though I've yet to hear the song other than a short clip playing in the background of a scene from the show that popped up on youtube.

Just her typical awesomeness. Specifically 'Momen no Handkerchief', which pretty much makes me cry every time I hear it. So beautiful...

Ahh her music has been quite captivating lately, I just can't stop listening to her I swear her voice puts me in a trance.

Her new single is really nice too, the video is kinda charming but I'm still in awe of Onna no Ko wa Dare Demo (as far as videos go) currently

(when her face pops out of the wardrobe in the intro I swear it's the cutest thing I've ever seen haha)

Oh my god isn't it?

Already watched it a few times, it's really wonderful. I must admit I forgot about that song, that live version though is really wonderful. I kinda spend too much time listening to Heisei Fuuzoku I kinda ignore the rest of her work. (Bottles should be thrown at me I know)

ahh i'm new in this forum but after i found this, i feel back at home!
i love shiina ringo! my favourite album is Kalk Samen Kuri No Hana, the album that not produced by Seiji Kameda yet full of cool and absurdness! And yeah, when I listened to arrangement of the tracks in Electric Mole concert, I really got goosebumps!

are there still active fans of this goddess? I adore her and recently ive started to listen to her more then ever. she transcends both jpop and jrock. ive heard that her fans are "mania fans", fans who enjoy horror and cult Japanese films. I wonder if there are other artists similar to her who had a cult following in japan? I only know jun togawa and her, I wish to know more. :yeah:
