I wonder why no dedicated thread for this group. I've only really listened to them now, since I'm so smitten by Umika Kawashima, but after watching and (now just) listening to their latest singles after the reformation, I am smitten with the group as well. Good pop sound, good singing, I don't really find any great fault here. Oh, only the glaring observaiton that Umika is not the best singer in the group.

I wish they were more popular :music:

There was a little thread kind of dedicated to them in one of the Perfume sections since Sayaka is A-chan's sister, but I think having their own thread here is fine since they've been making a name for themselves.

I've started actually paying attention to them since "Natsu Wanna Say Love U" came out. That song is quite good. Their post-reformation singles have all ended up being pretty solid, so I hope they can get more popular as well.

yep, saw those, but like my recovery from just liking this group for one member, its about time the distinction of this group being that idol group with a-chan's sister shouldn't be its only claim to fame here :D

IMO, not so amused with the kpop-ish verses of that song, but the song recovers every time the chorus sets in :music:

I really really like Natsu Wanna Say Love U. It's really different from most J-Pop songs, and the beat is awesome and the PV is fun. You're right though, it does remind me of a lot of K-Pop songs.

Shining Star is a really good song, as well. It's very catchy.

So I love "Happy x 2 Eyes (yu-gure party remix)" especially Umika's part just before the first chorus. Her singing is absolutely adorable there. The regular version has the singing, but the production in the original doesn't do it any justice. Ahhh.

Also, "Kanwaku Confuse" is a great song too.

I've been listening to 9nine a lot lately...

I approve of this. Anything that reduces long-term exposure to AKB is a good thing. :yeah:

Any YouTube links to especially good songs you can post?

I was listening to AKB most of tonight. xD Then it was NMB. But it's now 9nine. Add in Momoclo, and I think I've got my 4 favorite idol groups. But if anyone is going to reduce long-term exposure to AKB, it'll be NMB, they just need more music, haha.

Anyway, the oft mentioned "Natsu Wanna Say Love U"

"Happy x 2 Eyes (yu-gure party remix)"

http://www.1ting.com/player/a1/player_424769.html

"Konwaku Confuse"

annnd I'll throw in "Cross Over" for good measure.

That'll do. The other videos posted in this thread are good too.

I've been meaning to post about their new single for a bit, but keep forgetting to. Oi. Covers are gorgeous though. I've got high hopes for it. Like to see 9nine keep improving. Through the end of the year is ridiculous in terms of releases. So much to look forward to up until Christmas.

Speaking of 9nine, new video:

Song's okay, but I think the vocal work is pretty good for 9nine.

To be honest, I noticed 9nine because of perfume, A-chan's sister~
I didn't quite like these teenage girls doing around the singing business, yet I like perfume so I won;t tend to dislike 9nine...

cool thread, and 9nine is a breath of fresh air after the flurry of recent half-assed by AKB :p
I think Umika is pretty :red:

If I had to say one thing about 9nine, it would be that Kawashima totally infatuates me with her cuteness. Oh, and she's only a year older than me!

I digress, but I really enjoy their self titled album that came out last summer, every track of it. As of now, I'm experimenting with CUE. I hope I'll love it as much as I did with 9nine.

and Umika... HOW CUTE IS SHE? My god.
