While Perfume are no strangers to having prominent figures as well known fans to their music, Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter may now be their most famous fan in the world. On the recent episode of Perfume LOCKS (with thanks to hardly_timely), the girls discussed their time in Los Angeles and the lunch they had with Mr. Lasseter.
According to them, Lasseter was excited about his opportunity to have lunch with the girls that his rate of questions prevented them from be able to properly eat their lunch. He even went so far as to surprise them by noting Perfume’s Hiroshima singles “Omajinai Perori” and “Kareshi Boshuuchuu.” This passion from Lasseter is just one side as he himself has not been shy in expressing his love for Perfume, saying when he first heard “Polyrhythm” it was like “falling in love.”
Also, a new “Special Video Clip” for “Kasuka na Kaori” will air July 7 on MUSIC ON! TV that will appear to alter the images in the video. The original PV for “Kasuka na Kaori” has been divisive amongst fans for its use of photo snapshots to capture the song’s tone. The new version will seemingly dismiss the heavy photo cropping that left much of screen black and empty by pulling the images into the original aspect ratios. Feel free to discuss it here.
This Monday, from 5:25-8:00 a.m. in Japan, TV Tokyo will air a special movie that will chronicle Perfume at the Cars 2 World Premiere in Los Angeles. Whether it’s just the red carpet premiere or a documentary, well, I guess we’ll find out. Feel free to discuss it here.
